Challenge
Wiltshire Council appointed Liquidlogic for their Children’s Social Care and Education Systems with the aspirations of creating a single ‘Golden Record’. As a result of limited in-house capabilities, the Council sought specialist guidance to advise on the complex data migration and integration of multiple legacy systems and data stores to Liquidlogic (LCS, EHS and EYES). Albany Beck offered Wiltshire a free consultation and the recommendation that a full data migration Discovery Audit be undertaken was agreed.
“Albany Beck’s knowledge in complex data migrations from multiple legacy systems within Social Care and Education proved invaluable to Wiltshire. We were given the confidence to progress with the data migration and the knowledge of how best to proceed by identifying and mitigating potential risks and pitfalls.”
Solution
The Discovery Audit was to provide a high-level analysis of the data quality, mapping specification and cleansing plan, including integration possibilities with current core applications. The business-critical information provided by Albany Beck highlighted the Councils technical skills gap and also detailed recommendations on associated costs, business requirements, delivery plan and timescales for the data migration and implementation. Due to the high level of detail and quality from the diagnostic audit, Wiltshire was able to go out to a competitive tender with a full specification of requirements needed for a successful migration.
